The First Annual Huskies Classic Tournament
This coming Saturday, we will be hosting the 1st Annual Huskies Classic Varsity Baseball Tournament. Games will be taking place at both the Varsity field at Princeton as well as on Kyte Monroe A. Teams in this years tournament are Lakeview, East Detroit, Livonia Clarenceville, Dearborn Heights Crestwood, Utica Ford, and Temperance-Bedford. Since the JV team is not scheduled to play, we will be using the players to help work at both sites. There will be 2 shifts for the players – some will be working 8:30 am – 12:00 pm and another set will work 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm. I will be meeting with the JV team to go over their work assignments on Friday of this week. If there are any parents who would like to help out with working the gate or prepping fields between games, please let me know ASAP. This will be a nice fundraiser for the baseball program.
We have about 10 guys interested in the 16U summer baseball team as of now. If you know of anyone else who may not have a team this summer but is a competitive baseball player, please have them get in contact with me. There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday April 28th at 7:00 pm at the field at Princeton Elementary. Please be sure that a parent attends if you plan on playing.
Home Run Derby Fundraiser and Picnic
The HR Derby is quickly approaching – Sunday May 3rd at 1:00 pm! After today, all players will have an informational sheet as well as a pledge form. Each player is EXPECTED to sell 10 baseballs. If you have any questions on how this works, please refer to the informational sheet. Also included for this year is a picnic for all Lakeview Baseball families. The informational sheet outlines what is expected from each team to bring to contribute to the picnic. The program will purchase the hot dogs, burgers, buns, and condiments. If anyone has a grill that they could bring up to cook on, please let me know ASAP!! Also, I know that someone volunteered to go to Costco/Sams Club to get the meat, however with all that has been going on I forgot who that was. If you would like to volunteer, please let me know. I will get in contact with you regarding details.
Just a reminder that you cannot store your bags in the Media Center this week. If you need to store your bag somewhere during the school day, you can do so on the stage in room 111.
If you have any questions, let me know.
